Not only are the food and ambiance unique, but the story behind the place is full of hope and inspiration. We had the pleasure of enjoying Elvi's food a couple of times during our visit. The best part is the terrific food! In addition to the printed menu, which covers the place mat, there are always daily specials available. You will choose from a wide range of selections, with the primary emphasis being seafood, and yes, the burgers are still on the menu- including shrimp burgers, fish burgers, chicken burgers, and the Macho Burger for the famished! One evening's selection included the daily special of stone crab claws with garlic butter, pasta with vegetables, and delectable black bean soup to start. All of this, and a glass of wine, was a bargain at only US$20. If you prefer, your main course can be accompanied with rice and beans (a Belizean favorite), choice of potato, and fried plantain. We also sampled the lightly breaded, deep fried shrimp which was a steal at US$11, including all the same accompaniments. Now the best part- Elvi's famous special desserts. Even if you are completely full, don't leave without tasting the coconut pie, which is chock full of Belizean coconut. It is a heavenly delight. Even though someone else is cooking the burgers these days, Elvi is still in charge and will be there every evening welcoming her cherished guests.

I am writing this to thank you and your staff for the very special night that my fiance (at that time) and I enjoyed immensely. The pre-wedding dinner for the two of us was prepared to mouth-watering perfection. Nothing seemed to much for your staff to handle, and their friendly attitude was warm and sincere. Unfortunately, in today's society (at least where we live;California), there seems to be a shortage of good customer care. Well Elvi, our hats are off to you and all of your staff. Thank you for taking part in making our wedding-moon fantastic and fabulous. In fact, we returned to your restaurant on our wedding night because we enjoyed ourselves so much the previous night! If it's not too much trouble, could you find out through your daughter if are picture ever turned out? She took a picture of my husband and I which I believe was your idea! We gave our home address to request a copy of the picture, but maybe it didn't turn out. At any rate, it's no big deal if it didn't turn out. Hi Elvi,

My wife and I ate at your restaurant several times during our recent stay there. I must say that the food and the service at your place is the best. Not only on San Pedro but any where.

We have traveled extensively and must say that "Elvi's is the Best!"

Dear Miss Elvie

Thank you and your staff , Anna, Raffie and all the others for those very enjoyable meals and evenings spent at "The Kitchen" Unfortunately we are back home to frozen fish of doubtful origin, but we can still dream of Red Snapper at Elvi's and the best Keylime pie in the world.
